Time to review a game for the PSP and that game is God of War: Chains of Olympus. Chains of Olympus is a prequel game to the first God of War game that came out for the PS2 a while back. Now this is the first time I’m playing a God of War game and I have to say it feels like I’m playing a game like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden. This game is a hack and slash adventure game and you use other powers that you collect on your way.
This game is about Kratos and the events that lead up to the first game. Kratos tries to find out why the Gods still haven’t granted his wish after all he has done and he also try to figure out what happened to his daughter. Along the way you will have to fight a bunch of enemies including huge boss monsters and also solve puzzles so you can keep going on your way. You will collect lots of power ups so you can be stronger and you can pull of a lot of cool combos. I once did a 75 combo and I probably would of gotten more if I would of kept going. At first this game was hard for me but after a while I got the hang of it and even if you die they will let you continue off at a checkpoint.
This game was developed by the same people that made the Daxter game that I reviewed a while back. Ready at Dawn has done a great job with this game especially in the graphics it’s one of the best on the PSP til this day. The one problem I had with this game was at one point in the game it makes you use the nub (PSP Control Stick) to pull off a finishing move but it was hard to pull off but after a while I got the hang of it. This game is gory, bloody, and you might see some nudity just like the other God of War games so this one is not for the Kids but it’s a great game for anyone older that wants to pick up a great hack and slash portable game. Fans of the series will not be disappointed in this game and even me, someone who didn’t play a God of War game before, enjoyed this game.
