Daxter Review

This time I’m reviewing a game that comes bundled up with the silver PSP, and that game is Daxter.

Daxter is a side game based on the other console games in the Jak and Daxter series that were released on the PS2. This game takes place as Daxter’s friend Jak is in jail and Daxter is trying to find a way to help him escape.

Now the story starts off with someone offering Daxter a job as a bug exterminator since he’s small and can get to many places regular people can’t. So Daxter agrees to help out and starts working on exterminating bugs and by doing so he meets lots of other people.

In this game you control Daxter; he is armed with an electric fly swatter at first, then he gets his poison bug spray that he later uses to let him hover in the air for a bit. Daxter goes around and kills bugs and collects jewels that help him out on his journey. The reason to collect the jewels is so you can unlock a mini game that lets you teach Daxter some fighting moves and those mini games are based on movies like the Matrix and Braveheart, to name a few.

Now this game is a great platformer for the PSP it does get frustrating at times but it’s great that they let you continue around the place where you died and it will get easier as you play the game more. This game was released a while back but up til today still has one of the best graphics on the PSP. So if you haven’t picked it up yet this is a great game to play even if you have never played any of the Jak and Daxter games.
