Since today is the 2 Year Anniversary of the the release of Mother 3 in Japan and since I’m a fan of the series I decided to write about this game. A lot of people may not know the Mother (Earthbound) Series. The first game in the Mother series here in the US was Mother 2 which they released in the US with the name Earthbound on the Super Nintendo. Now you might be wondering if Mother 2 was released where’s the first game “Mother”, Mother was a NES game and they were going to release in the US they had it translated and everything but they thought it was too late to release it because the Super Nintendo was just released and they thought it might not sell well and might lose money if they released the game. To learn more about Mother click here: Mother. Now Mother 3 (Earthbound 64 for the US) was going to be released on the N64 but that project got canceled. Even thought the project was canceled the creator of the series decided to keep everything and make the game later on for the GBA and that was released 2 years ago in Japan. Now there’s a lot of fans all over the world that want to play the new Earthbound game but it doesn’t seem like Nintendo will release outside of Japan. So a couple of fans decided to translate the game so that anyone that couldn’t understand Japanese but wanted to play it in English could, more info on the translation click here: Mother 3 Fan Translation. The Starmen website always have projects going on to help fans of the series try to get Nintendo to release Mother 3 to the US even Earthbound on the Wii’s Virtual Console, even Nintendo knows about them.
