Windows Live Messenger Problems

Currently I’m running version 8.1 of Windows Live Messenger and then it asks me, Do you want to upgrade to the new version of Windows Live Messenger? So I go on and update it and then a Windows Live Installer comes up and it looks like its upgrading then when it’s done it takes me to the Live website and then I check the version of the Messenger and it’s still 8.1. They really need to fix that, it’s starting to bug me when it asks to upgrade, I do it and it doesn’t do anything.
