Ubuntu on PS3

Earlier today me and my friend installed Ubuntu into his PS3 because he wanted to try it out. I gotta say installing Ubuntu into the PS3 is very easy it just takes a while for it to setup (like about a hour). The only problem is that after you finish installing it into the PS3 it doesn’t give you the option to go wireless right off the bat. To be able to use wi-fi on the PS3 you have to install something else and then it will work. It’s a good thing that people still create updates to Ubuntu so everyone can use it with no problem.

Ok yes my friend does have the newest firmware 2.10 and installed Ubuntu 7.10 “Gutsy Gibbon”. Ok to get wi-fi on Ubuntu you gotta use a program called Wifi radar. Now if you have Ubuntu 7.10 then under add/remove programs you can find Wifi radar under the Networking or Internet section or you can just search for it with the search bar, but you have to be online so you can get it. If you can’t get online with a wired connection with your PS3 then you can download it from your computer and then transfer it with a USB Stick to the PS3, the site I used to get everything is http://psubuntu.com you can get support from there on how to install it so it works on the PS3 because you gotta install some drivers so the Wifi radar will detect the PS3 Wifi device. You can also check out there forums for help too and also there are some YouTube videos that show you how to install it as well.
