WoW - Warcraft - The noob factor

As time, grows closer toward the release of the new World of Warcraft expansion pack: Wrath of the Lich King I find we’re growing further away from our roots as gamers. In recent months I’ve come across several “noobs” to the World of Warcraft, most of them completely inexperienced in any kind of RPG. I think it’s important to take these newly hatched gamers and nurture them. Too often I come upon people in need of assistance in-game and I get worshiped like I am a god for doing nothing more then being civil. This is OUR world and it will mutate into whatever we put into it. If you want an ugly dirty sewer – get off my server.  I am looking for a utopia, a place where the Horde and the Alliance can pwn each other in relative harmony, while at the same time training the newest members of our online army. The thing that bothers me the most in this is that it’s not impossible. We were all “noobs” at one point or another in our lives, whether online or real world. Whether gaming or something else we all had to learn and start from somewhere. So the next time you come across someone who is new… Rather then ignoring them or being rude and vulgar, try to consider how you’d like to be treated. After all, next time you might just be the noob.
