Windows 7 includes its own firewall to prevent malicious software from gaining access to your computer via the Internet or an unsecure network. Furthermore, Windows 7 gives you access to advanced firewall settings so you can customize them to meet your specific requirements.
In the event that you alter the advanced firewall settings and have problems with the Windows Firewall afterwards, you can easily restore the default settings.
To restore default firewall settings in Windows 7:
- Click Start and then click Control Panel.
- Within the Control Panel, click System and Security.
- Click Windows Firewall.
- In the left pane, click the Restore Defaults option.
- Click the Restore defaults button. This removes any firewall settings that you have configured.
