Prevent Highlights From Printing In Word 2010

There should be an image here!Highlighting is a great way to call attention to specific text in Word and it looks great on-screen. However, printed, it’s a different story. Highlights don’t print well and therefore, lose their effectiveness. So, if you need to print a document that contains highlighted text, you can temporarily hide the highlights without having to remove them.

To accomplish this in Word 2010:

  1. Within Word, click the File tab.
  2. Click Options under Help.
  3. Click Display.
  4. Clear the Show Lighter Marks in the Page Display Options section.
  5. Click OK.

Word hides any highlighted text both on-screen and in any printouts.
