Create A New Multi-Level List Style In Word 2007
A multi-level list lets you show list items at different levels as opposed to only a single level. For example, if you have a list starting at 1, 2, 3, etc., you can have sub-items appear under each number as 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, and so on.
In a previous tip, you learned how to create a new multi-level list within a document using the existing styles in the gallery. If none of the existing styles meet your needs or preferences, you can easily create a new multi-level list style and add it to the gallery.
To create a new multi-level list style in Word 2007:
- On the Home tab, within the Paragraph group, click the arrow next to Multilevel List.
- Click the Define New Multilevel List option.
- Enter in the number format, font, and position choices for each level you want in the list.
- Click OK.
