OnTheRoad

When I’m traveling, the last thing that I want to do is spend time updating friends and family about what’s going on. Some people are really into sharing these experiences in detail as they happen, but I’d much rather enjoy the trip while it’s taking place. If you do like to stay in contact with others and create a public travel diary of sorts, then the key thing is that the process needs to be quick and easy. You see, you can say a lot without having to spend a lot of time saying it. OnTheRoad wants to make recording travel experiences a natural part of your trips.

The idea is simple enough. Using the map planner, you can specify where your trip is going to take you, and once you actually embark on that trip, sending content to your page is as easy as sending an e-mail or SMS message. The service formats and inserts everything for you automatically so that you don’t have to think about it. Facebook and Twitter integration is present, and iPhone and Android apps exist for mobile users. Now you can make everyone who’s keeping up with your journey jealous that they’re not where you are.
