Remove The Sidebar In Windows 7

Although on first glance, the sidebar Windows 7 does not appear to include the sidebar, it still exists. The sidebar launches automatically at start up and runs in the background. You can get rid of the sidebar in one of two ways: using msconfig.exe or through the Windows Registry.

If using the first method, press the Windows key and type MSCONFIG.exe. Click the Startup tab and clear the box beside Sidebar. Alternatively, open the Windows Registry and delete the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
