Windows 7 has improved the Calculator application by adding additional functionalities not seen in previous versions of Windows. The Calculator in Windows Vista includes two modes: Standard and Scientific. In addition to these two modes, Windows 7 introduces the Programmer and Statistics modes. Just use the Mode drop-down menu within the Calculator application to switch between modes.
You will also notice changes to the calculator interface which is divided into three areas: Calculation history, Current calculation and Special calculation. Furthermore, one of the most useful changes is the addition of a conversion utility which lets you convert values from one unit of measure to another. Measurement units available include angle, temperature, area, energy, volume, weight, time, pressure, etc.
Finally, the Windows 7 Calculator includes various templates for calculating mileage , lease and mortgage estimation, making it much more useful for everyday use.
