Some people say that gift cards are a lousy gift, but I actually think they’re pretty cool. They’re better than cash in the sense that they actually force you to get something for yourself at a specific store instead of just causing you to put regular money in your wallet and forget about it. Gift cards also mean that you don’t have to go through the awkward experience of trying to act excited when someone buys you something that you really don’t want. When you receive a gift card, it feels like you’re getting free money, but with Rackup, even when you buy gift cards you still get free money.
Their live auction process is a little difficult to explain in a concise way, but the overall idea is that you’re competing with other bidders to be in the Top 10 list of winners. You win as long as you’re in that top list, and the gift card that you receive will be worth the amount you bid plus the cash bonus that you win, which is based on where you fall in that Top 10 list. Your bonus could be anything from 3% to 100%, so you really can’t go wrong with free money.
