Have you ever wanted to make a movie? I’ve wanted to write and direct my own short film in the past, but even something like that can be overwhelming for a lot of people. After all, the desire to do it doesn’t exactly make it happen. For most of us, recording a movie involves using a camcorder or webcam to record a short clip of something. That’s not necessarily going to win you an award, but it’s a start. A service called Xtranormal has simplified the process of making a movie to the point that all you have to do is type and click your mouse.
The movies that you’ll create will be animated in 3D, and you actually do have control over backgrounds, characters, camera angles, and so on. You can either watch some of the movies that have already been created or dive right in and make your own. Your script will be made audible, so you can actually bring your words to life. Created movies can also be shared and posted on YouTube. Xtranormal is a fun distraction, but I don’t know if it has what it takes to become a serious application. Of course, maybe that’s not such a bad thing…
