Add A Slashed Zero In Word 2002

Sometimes, technical writers will use a zero with a slash through it to differentiate a zero from the capital O. If you want to add such a character to your document, you will not find he character on the keyboard. You will have to use the Symbol dialog box and find a font that has the character.

Alternatively, you can use the steps below.

  1. Place the cursor where you want the character to appear. 
  2. Press Ctrl+F9. Word inserts field braces.
  3. Type the following: eq \o (0,/).
  4. Press Shift+F9.

The characters you entered in step 3 will be changed to the slashed zero.
