A symbol that people commonly add to a document is the copyright symbol. If you are not familiar with the symbol, it is a small C with a circle around it: ©.
There are different ways that you can add a copyright symbol to a document. Assuming that AutoCorrect has not been disabled, simply type (C) and Word will automatically change the characters to a copyright symbol.
Alternatively, if AutoCorrect is disabled, you can use the Symbol dialog box as described below:
- Within your document, place the cursor where you want to add a copyright symbol.
- From the Insert menu, click Symbol.
- Select the Special Characters tab.
- Choose Copyright from the list of available characters.
- Click OK.
