Link To Another Slide In A Different PowerPoint 2002 Presentation

In a previous tip, I showed you how to create a hyperlink to link to another slide within the same PowerPoint presentation. Hyperlinks in PowerPoint can also be used to link to slides in different presentations.

To create a hyperlink to connect to a slide in a different presentation using PowerPoint 2002:

  1. Within PowerPoint, switch to Normal view.
  2. Select the text or object that you want to hyperlink.
  3. Click the Insert menu.
  4. Click Hyperlink.
  5. Under Link to, click Existing File or Web Page.
  6. Browse to and select the presentation that contains the slide that you want to link to.
  7. Click the Bookmark button.
  8. The Select Place in Document window will appear. Select the title of the slide that you want to link to. Click OK.
  9. Click OK.

It might be nice to note that Microsoft offers as a free download a powerpoint veiwer. Many people get pps files as e-mail attachments. (Currently, it is the plane down in the Hudson river) Some save them hoping someday they will find something that will allow them to see them. I have been passing my copy arround to all my friends and they are very happy with the results.
