Prevent Outlook From Saving Draft Messages
- 1
- Add a Comment
When you compose an email message in Outlook, the message is automatically saved after 3 minutes. This means that if you decide not to send the message, Outlook will inform you that it has automatically saved a copy of it in the Drafts folder. You will be prompted as the whether or not you want to keep a copy of the message.
If you rarely save messages to the Drafts folder, you can turn this feature off completely using the steps that are described below.
- Open Outlook
- From the Tools menu, click Options
- On the Preferences tab, under E-mail, click E-mail Options
- Clear the check box beside the Automatically save unsent messages option.
- Click OK.
- Click OK to close the Options windows and save your changes.
