ScreenToaster

I’ve had to create quite a few screencasts before, and if you’ve ever been down this road, then you know that it’s not always easy. Getting the captured content right is one thing, but one of the biggest challenges can be trying to use the software effectively. Software isn’t supposed to get in the way of the task, but many times it does, and with screencasts, it downright interferes if you don’t know what you’re doing. Screencasts do serve a worthy purpose, but they need to be easier to create. Thankfully, ScreenToaster makes recording a screencast as simple as clicking a button.

With ScreenToaster, there isn’t any software to download, and the service is compatible with Windows, OS X, and Linux. In other words, you no longer have an excuse to not create screencasts. A collection of keyboard commands are available to help you record what you want to record, and after you’re done, the video is offered in Flash for you to embed and link to. Just so you know, you will have to request an invitation to gain access to the beta.
