Famento

How much do you know about your family history? To be honest, while I know about my family members that are alive, I don’t know hardly anything about previous generations. This isn’t exactly causing me to lose sleep at night, but the curiosity is still there. What were they like? What did they do? In order to get the answers to these questions, you should ask your family members to tell you what they know, and Famento is an online repository for information about your family that they can use to tell their stories.

We all have stories to tell, and Famento is the place to do that. Family members and friends can enjoy the stories and pictures that are shared in this private social network. Since death has affected us all in some way, you can even use the service to create a profile in remembrance of someone who has passed away. Famento focuses on the past in a lot of ways, but you’ll also be able to deliver and follow current updates.

    Brandon,

Thanks for the write-up about Famento. Please let us know if you have any feedback about the Famento website — additional features, UI issues we should improve, etc.

Famento’s a way of recording and sharing the life stories of family members in previous generations. Maybe it’s a consequence of moving away from where I grew up, but I’m still getting to know my family today, as they continue to evolve. For example, I found out one of my aunts is such an avid baseball fan that she knows the superstitions and personal habits of every player on our home team.

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Lauren
