Count Words In A Word 2003 Document

One of the Word features that I often use is the Word Count. It tells me exactly how many words I currently have in my document and if you are writing to a specific word count, it is a handy little feature. It is also a great feature to take advantage of if you are a student trying to turn out papers under a certain word count.

To count the number of words in a Word 2003 document, click Word Count from the Tools menu. Word will display the counts for words, paragraph lines, and characters. If you want to include or exclude footnotes and endnotes from the count, select or clear the Include footnotes and endnotes option.

This only count total words. I wanted to count how many times each word was used and couldn’t figure out how. I found a tool that counts each word and phrase usage as well that worked out fine. It is called myWordCount.
