Insert Editing Time Into Your Word 2002 Document

If you open the Properties dialog box for a document, Word will provide some statistical information, including the total editing time. You can see the statistical information by clicking Properties from the File men within your document. For clarification, Word calculates the editing time as the total amount of time the file is open.

You can insert the total editing time directly into your document so you do not have to open the Properties window to find the information. To accomplish this in Word 2002:

  1. Within your document, place the insertion point where you want to insert the editing time.
  2. From the Insert menu, click Field.
  3. From the Categories list, click Date and Time
  4. From the list of available fields, click the EditTime option.
  5. Click OK.
