Create A Desktop Shortcut To Lock Your Workstation In Vista

There are a few ways that you can lock your workstation. The easiest way is to use the Windows Key + L keystrokes. For those of you who prefer to use the mouse, you can create a desktop shortcut to lock your workstation just as quickly. When you double click the shortcut, your workstation will be locked.

Here is what you have to do. Right click on the your desktop, point to New and click Shortcut. In the Create Shortcut dialog box, type in the following: rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation. Click Next. Type in a name for the shortcut, such as Lock Workstation and click Finish. That’s all there is to it.
