Split Your Word Document Into Two Panes

Sometimes you need to work on two sections of a Word document at the same time. Scrolling back and forth between the two sections is inefficient. Instead, you can split your document window into two horizontal panes.

To split you document into two panes:

  1. From the Window menu, click the Split option.
  2. Drag the split bar that appears to where you want it located.
  3. Press Enter.

Now you can work separately on two sections of your document at the same time. When you want to return to a single pane, click the Remove Split option from the Windows menu.

I’d forgotten about this option. Thanks for the reminder
