Save Your Data With One Of These Top Backup Programs

PC World editors tested five new apps that make saving — and restoring — your vital data a lot easier than tools you’ve tried in the past.

Titan Backup
This backup utility has a marvelous interface and just about everything else — except the ability to back up open files.

NovaBackup Professional
The most complete backup solution on the market offers both file-based backup and imaging, and is a bargain to boot.

Paragon Drive Backup (Personal Edition)
With the ability to back up and restore files as well as partitions, this utility is now encroaching on Acronis True Image’s turf.

Retrospect for Windows 7.6 and CDP
The most powerful, filed-based backup program you can buy, but it’s expensive and hard to learn.

NTI Backup 5 Advanced
This comprehensive backup solution is a friendly as it gets, and offers file-base backup, imaging and CDP.

I just received a 1TB WD MyBook that came with a built in backup software. Amazing little piece of software that will keep all changes up to date and keep multiple copies if you like.

Hello,

I have used NovaStor’s NovaBack for Windows for quite some time and been quite happy with it. It is one of the few backup programs which supports tape drives under Microsoft Windows Vista.

Another good program for file synchronization is 2BrightSpark’s SyncBackSE.
