Many people like having some form of notification when the caps Lock key has been inadvertently activated. Although, there is no way of receiving a visual notification, unless you use a third party application, you can receive an audible notification to alert you.
To configure Windows XP to audibly notify you when you press the Caps Lock key:
- Open the Control Panel.
- Double-click the Accessibility Options applet.
- Click the Keyboard tab.
- Click the Use ToggleKeys check box.
- Click the General tab.
- Verify that the Turn Off Accessibility Features After Idle check box is not selected.
- Click OK.
- Close the Control Panel.
Now your computer will beep whenever the Caps Lock key (as well as the Num Lock or Scroll Lock) is pressed.
