Alter Margin Settings To Bind Documents In Word 2007

If you plan to bind documents, you may find after doing so that some of the text is not visible because it is hidden by the bindings. This is because there is not enough white space either on the side or top of the document.

Microsoft Word recognizes that you may want to bind printed documents and allows you to configure the margins so all text is visible afterwards. If you plan to bind a document follow the steps below to add extra space to the margins.

  1. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Margins.
  2. Click Custom Margins.
  3. In the Multiple pages list, click Normal.
  4. In the Gutter box, enter in the width for the gutter margin.
  5. In the Gutter position box, click Left or Top.
