Insert A Linked Object Or Embedded Object From An Excel File
Word 2007 lets you insert a linked object or embedded object from a file created in Excel.
You can even retain the use of Excel tools to make changes to the data in Word.
To insert a linked object or embedded object from Excel into Word 2007:
- Open your Word document.
- Open your Excel spreadsheet.
- Within Excel, select the cells, worksheet, or chart that you want to copy into Word.
- From the Edit menu, click Copy.
- Switch back to your Word document.
- Place the insertion point where you want the data placed.
- On the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, click the arrow under Paste, and then click Paste Special.
- In the As list, select Microsoft Office Excel object.
- Click Paste to insert an embedded object, or click Paste link to insert a link to the object.
