Even Gmail Redirects

Gnomie Michael N. writes:

While https://gmail.com allows for a secure login, it even redirects for to https://mail.google.com/mail/ logon by default! Check it out.

You log on securely and immediately get sent back to unsecure email browsing and sending. There is a way to maintain a secure connection for all things with Google. What you have to do is:

Go to https://mail.google.com. From there, it redirects but will still maintain an ssl connection. You will log in AND browse and send through https://; this is the only way someone cannot view your entire email account while you have the connection opened.

While they may not be able to get your password, they can read anything you have while the account is opened. This is why it is so important to log out properly and not just X out of the window!

Bottom line is, if you want ultra security, locking down through https:// the entire time is the only way to ensure total security.

Hope this enlightens.
