In a previous tip, I showed you have to use the Find and Replace features in Word to change specific formatting. You can also use the Find and Replace features to search for and replace other elements such as tabs and breaks.
To find and replace different types of document elements in Word 2002:
- From the Edit menu, click Find.
- Click Replace.
- To search for special elements, leave the Find what field blank.
- Click the More button.
- Click the Special button.
- Select the element that you want to find and replace.
- Click the Replace with box, click Special button, and then select the replacement element.
- Click Find Next, and then click Replace.
- To replace all instances of the selected element, click Replace All.
