A Lockergnome reader recently submitted a question about how to double underline text in a Word document. When you select the Underline button on the toolbar, the selected text is underlined with a single line. If you want to underline text with a double line, you need to use the Font option. As you will see from the steps below, single and double lines are not the only options for underlining text.
To double underline text in Word 2007:
- Select the text that you want to underline.
- On the Home tab, click the Font Dialog Box Launcher, and then click the Font tab.
- In the Underline style box, click the double underline style or any of the other available styles.
Word will automatically underline the selected text using the line style you selected.
