Sorry I was wrong. It is a four platter drive whose claim to fame seems to be lower power consumption acheived by varying the speed between 5400 and 7200 rpm when approriate.

I've always liked Western Digital hard-drives, Chris, but for the past 18 months, I've found that the failure rate has sky-rocketed. My clients work in high-end CAD, digital video, & multimedia, so I not only demand a high MTBF (mean time between failures), but also high reliability. With a terabyte of data, the last thing you want is to come in one morning to find things going "clack, clack, clack" in your computer!

I've thus switched over to Seagate &, in fact, just today ordered one of their ST310005N1A1AS-RK 1 TB SATA/300 drives with 32 MB buffer & 7200 rpm that I found on Bensbargains.net . Frys.com has them at $235.00 plus $6.00 shipping. This will help immensely on two video projects that we just were awarded.

Keep up the good work!

Aloha!
