Hey Chris, I just thought you might like this list and congrats on the new Mac Pro! I loved the Getting In Trouble With The Mac Pro vid on YouTube even though I saw it live it still cracks me up. Here goes…
- Learn the basic idea of how to solve the Rubik’s Cube. This is where YouTube and Google really come in handy. I would recommend either Thrawst or Pogobat on YouTube — they both have great tutorials on how to solve the cube.
- Learn the algorithms. Learning the algorithms is very important to solving the Rubik’s Cube! I have yet to see anyone solve the cube with no algorithms. It took me about two days to learn the algorithms for the cube; there are only about eight algorithms needed.
- Practice. I’m sure you have heard that practice makes perfect? Well it also applies here! The more times you solve the cube, the easier it gets and the more efficient you will be. I have been doing the cube for a couple of months now and I can now solve it, on average, in about 35 seconds.
- Learn new methods. Learning new methods will not only decrease your times, but it will help you get a feel for what method is right for you. I use the Fridrich method, which right now is the most popular method by far — mainly because it is the easiest speed cubing method there is to learn.
- Have fun with it! Learn little tricks that will amaze your friends. These can also be found on Google and YouTube. It’s always fun to see someone’s eyes light up to see that you can actually solve the Rubik’s Cube!
