You have likely seen spreadsheets where the text is angled or vertical. Changing the orientation of text in an Excel worksheet is easy to do in Excel 2007. The great thing about altering the orientation of text is that you can put more text in less space.
To change the orientation of text in Excel 2007:
- Within your spreadsheet, type the text into a cell.
- Select the cell.
- On the Home tab of the ribbon, in the Alignment group, locate the button containing “ab” (angled with an arrow underneath).
- Click the button to display the Orientation menu. There you will find a button with an ‘a’ and a ‘b’ and an arrow all on an angle.
- Select one of the orientation options to change the angle of your text.
