1. You can turn down the brightness on your portable video device. The brightness took up a lot of my battery on my iPod nano; when I turned it down, it saved me tons of battery power — an extra hour, in some cases.
2. If your portable music player has a volume limit, lower it.
3. Turn down the volume on your cell phone.
4. Turn off your computer’s screen saver.
5. Buy rechargeable batteries. I have these batteries in my: mouse, Xbox 360 controller, and remote control. I can’t even count how much money this has saved me over time.
