Although the initial RSS hype has faded away, my RSS feed reader is still one of the most used and treasured applications on my computer. It’s the gateway to all of the news and information that I care about, and it keeps me updated about what’s going on. I love to read, so having my own personalized digital newspaper is something that I truly enjoy, and I don’t know how I ever lived without this functionality. With that said, after skimming through hundreds of posts, reading can sometimes become tiring, and PimpMyNews hopes to help out by enabling you to listen to the recent posts from a selection of top blogs.
Although I don’t routinely admit it, I’ve always been a fan of text-to-speech technology, and I have to say that while it’s not perfect, the solution used on PimpMyNews is rather impressive and pleasant to listen to. While you can obviously hear the posts on the Internet, you can also take the MP3 files with you so that they can be listened to wherever you are. Listening to a computer read the news to you may become boring after an hour or even a few minutes, but for those who want and need this type of service, it’s nice to know that PimpMyNews exists.

Thanks for reviewing PimpMyNews. You “hit the nail on the head” about the key benefit - which is that you can now “get current” on your text news & blogs, anytime/anywhere by listening (vs. reading). A lot of our users listen on their iPods & iPhones in the car, at the gym, in bed, while doing chores and more.

I would have to agree with John’s last comment, this technology is very addictive and has been very beneficial to keep me up to date in the world. I found this site about a month ago and have used it nearly everyday via my poldcasts which I set-up. I usually listen to the news now while I am running or working-out instead of just sitting on the couch and watching it the old-fashioned way….how boring!!
