When your Inbox begins to fill up, it’s time to start deleting some of the old email messages. Deleting old messages will not only free up some disk space, but it will also improve the performance of Windows Mail.
There are a few different ways that you can delete messages in Windows Mail. One method is to highlight the message and click the Delete button on your toolbar. A second method is to again highlight the message, or multiple messages by holding down the CTRL key, in your Inbox and press the Delete key on your keyboard.
A third method is to use the CTRL + D keystrokes. Simply highlight the message you want to delete and press CTRL + D. Your message will be sent to the trash.
