Prevent Page Breaks From Splitting Up Paragraphs In Word 2007

  • No Related Post

When you are using page breaks in your document, data will end up appearing on separate pages. It may be a problem in some instances when a page break splits up a numbered list or a paragraph.

You can prevent this from happening in Word 2007 by following the simple steps listed below.

  1. Place the cursor inside the paragraph you want to keep together.
  2. On the Page Layout tab, click the Paragraph dialog box launcher.
  3. Click the Line and Page Breaks tab.
  4. Click the Keep lines together option.

Now Word will prevent a page break from disrupting the selected paragraph.

I want to keep letters of a word together. MY words break oddly when I am writing sentences and come to the end of the line. They are never hyphenated, just split on the last word on the right margin. If I go back and edit a paragraph, it messes all the right margin last words up and I have to be extra careful that I do not print without going back and correcting every line top to bottom. Not every line has incomplete words but when I edit the line above it might split the last word in the next row when it wasn’t split before. I am sure this is some sort of setting but what? Help.
