Posted by on Oct 19, 2007 | 3 Comments

Certain programs are configured to start automatically when your computer startups. The problem with this it may not be necessary to have certain programs start at this time and it can slow startup times.

If you do not want certain programs to run on startup, then you can disable them one by one using the steps below.

  1. Click Start, type MSConfig in the Search field and press Enter.
  2. Click the MSConfig icon on the Start menu.
  3. Click the Startup tab.
  4. Uncheck any boxes in the startup items.

It seemed to work perfectly, except that Vista asks you if you really want to do this somewhere between steps 1 and 3.

    Thanks!
