Change Your Vista Registration Information

When you install Vista, you are required to provide registration information including your name and organization. This registration information appears within the System Properties window.

You can change the registration information after you install Vista by editing the registry.

  1. Click Start, type Registry Editor and press Enter.
  2. Within the Registry Editor, expand the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
  3. In the right pane, double click Registered Organization.
  4. Type in the new organization name and click OK.
  5. Double click RegisteredOwner.
  6. Type in the new name of the registered owner and click OK.
  7. Close the Registry Editor.
