Increasing The Size Of The Recycle Bin In Vista

The Recycle Bin is the repository for all your deleted files. Vista sets a maximum size for the Recycle Bin. The default size is 10% of your hard drive space. So if you have a 20 GB hard drive, the maximum size for the Recycle Bin will be 2 GB. As with most settings, you can alter the default configuration to increase or decrease the maximum size. You can do so from the Recycle Bin Properties dialog box.

Right click the Recycle Bin and click Properties. Select each drive and use the Custom size to specify how much space to allocate to the Recycle Bin. You can also select the Do not move files to the Recycle Bin to disable this feature for the selected drive.
