Vista introduces many new and useful tricks. Some of these tricks are obvious while others are not and we often discover these ones accidentally. Take for example the Copy as Path option. In previous version of Windows, if you wanted to copy a folder or file path, you had to copy it manually.
Vista makes it easier to accomplish this with the Copy as Path option. However, unless you know how to find this option, you’ll have to resort to using the old method.
To copy a folder or file path in Vista:
- Open a Windows Explorer windows and locate the appropriate folder or file.
- In the right pane of the Windows Explorer window, right-click the folder or file. As you can see, the “Copy as Path” option is not available.
- Right click the folder or file again, this time while holding down the Shift key.
- Click the Copy as Path option. The path will be copied to the clipboard.
