Once you insert an AutoShape in a document, it is easy to change it to another one. For example, you may want to change a rectangular shape to a triangle. One way of doing so is to delete the original shape and then insert a new one. However, an slightly simpler way is to use the Change AutoShape command.
To change an AutoShape in Word:
- Display the Drawing toolbar.
- Select the AutoShape you want to change. Handles will appear around the outside of the shape.
- Click the draw option Draw on the Drawing toolbar, and point to Change AutoShape. The familiar AutoShape categories will appear.
- Select the new AutoShape you want to use.
