One of the most famous things about the Windows operating system isn’t its functionality, design, or security. Excuse me, it’s definitely not its security - far from it. No, without a doubt, one of the most recognizable travesties of Windows is the infamous Blue Screen of Death. When the OS experiences a problem that it doesn’t know how to solve, you’ll encounter this frustrating screen in all of its glory. What really gets you aggravated is the fact that you never really know when one will appear. Depending on the circumstances, something as simple as changing your font can cause your computer to throw its arms up in the air and take the next flight to Barbados. The Blue Screen of Death isn’t only a reward for home users - any computer that runs Windows is susceptible, and people have taken pictures of public BSODs in places that you may have never expected. You can check some of those photos out here.
It’s really unnerving to see airports and ATMs experience the same fatal errors that we do on our computers, but it just puts everything in perspective. Somehow we’ve managed to keep things running… just don’t ask me how we’ve done it.

Once, I was in Ben-Gurion airport in tel aviv, Israel, and one of the departure screens was displaying the bsod. I pointed it out to one of my companions, and was immediately confronted by a security gaurd for saying “death”
