Add Images As Wallpaper In Windows Vista

Vista has several wallpapers by default that you can use to personalize your desktop. However, if you really want to personalize your desktop, you can add your own images to you wallpapers and use them for your desktop.

You can use almost any image file as your desktop wallpaper. The most convenient method is to add your images to the list of wallpapers using the steps listed below.

  1. Copy your images into the wallpaper folder (C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper).
  2. Group-select your images and add a descriptor in the Tags field.
  3. Click the Save button in the Details pane.
  4. Right click the desktop, click Personalize and click Desktop Background.
  5. Select Windows Wallpaper using the location drop-down. Your new wallpapers will appear in the list under the descriptor you added in step 2.
