Display Super Hidden Files In Windows Vista

In a previous tip, I showed you how to display hidden files in Vista through the Folder Options window. However, even when you tell Vista to show hidden files this way, some files still remain hidden. These are referred to as super hidden files.
You can display super hidden files in Windows Vista by editing the registry as described below:
- Click Start, type “regedit” in the search box, and press Enter.
- Click Continue.
- Within the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced.
- On the right panel, double-click on Superhidden.
- In the Value Data box, change the value to “1″.
- Click OK.
- Exit the Registry Editor
- Restart your machine for the changes to take effect.

Diana,
Can you ascertain as default this value is set to 0? I have recently built a new machine (read: 4 days ago) and have a default Vista Ultimate SP1 64bit installed on the system and this setting is already at 1….
And I cannot think of why it would be….
