Word 2007 includes a new feature known as Insert mode. When Insert mode is enabled, a user can place their cursor anywhere within their document, press the Insert key and automatically type over the current text.
Before you can use this feature, it must be enabled using the steps described below:
- Click the Microsoft Office button and click Word Options.
- Select Advanced.
- Click the option to Use Insert key to control overtype mode.
- Click OK.

Hello,
I have gotten Office 2007 Basic. I was not going to but since I work at the Bayonne Public Library and everyone comes to me. I thought I might should learn it. I have been having alot of trouble with finding thing in the all of Office 2007 but I used Word the most and on the Insert along the top I cannot find anything like it was in Office 2003 and back. For an example I use the Insert and when you have the dropped down it give you all the selections you need. Like the Date, Subject, and Closing and other things.
I know that I have to learn it but is so hard to relearn all over again.

Is there a way to see if you are in insert mode in word 2007. In 2003 the ins word came on in the bottom of the page. Anything in Word 2007?
