When you edit a picture in a Word document, Word is the default program used for picture editing. If you have other picture editing programs installed, you can tell Word to use one of these programs instead.
To change the application you want Word to use as the picture editor:
- Within Word, click Options from the Tools menu.
- Click the Edit tab.
- Click the drop down arrow under Picture editor.
- Select the program you want Word to use. The programs that appear in the list will depend on the programs that are installed on your computer.
- Click OK.

I tried this with Word 2003 on Vista. The Help file states exactly what you have. The problem is that the drop down does not offer anything but Word for the Picture Editor and I see no browse button. Also, nothing can be typed into the box. Is there something that must be done first before this can be done? It would be great if I could use Paint Shop Pro.
Thank you,
Rich

I could not change the picture editor from Microsoft Word to Adobe
Photoshop. When I click on the drop ddown arrow, only Microsoft Word is listed dispite the fact that I have Photoshop installed. Any suggestions?

Me too. I want to use Photoshop as the picture editor in Word from Office 2003, and only have microsoft Word in the Tools menu, only Word is in the drop down box although photoshop is installed, registered and working.
I have other photo editing programs too, but these are not listed either.
Any ideas on how to get around this???
