Microsoft Office has many features that you are able to customize to users’ particular needs. One worth mentioning is the My Places Bar of the Open dialog box which can be customized to specific network drives, local drives or folders. In a previous tip (entitled Add a Shortcut to the My Places Bar in Office 2007) you learned how to add a new shortcut to the My Places Bar. Once you have your shortcuts added, you can even reorder so they appear the way you want them to.
To reorder your shortcuts in the My Places Bar in Word 2007:
- Click the Microsoft Office Button and click Save As.
- On the My Places bar, right-click the shortcut that you want to move.
- Click Move Up or Move Down on the shortcut menu.

Where is the My Places Bar in Office 2007. I see many articles on customizing the bar but there is no bar. I click on the MS icon in Word and go to Open or Save As and there are some links but nopt standard bar.
