People are creating social networking profiles at an astounding rate, and this just goes to show that people are eager to put themselves out there and talk about what they like. Online social networking shows no sign of slowing down, and it’s even branching out to include species other than humans. What am I talking about specifically? Dogs. Yes, as in woof, woof. Many times, dogs are more a part of the family than some of their human counterparts, and the community surrounding Uniteddogs.com proves this point.
In much the same way as you create a profile for yourself on a service like MySpace or Facebook, Uniteddogs.com enables you to create a profile for your dog. This is your opportunity to describe your dog, document what they like, share pictures of them, and if you’re inclined to do so, even write a doggy diary. The whole service is kind of weird in a way, but strangely enough, it makes complete sense. For someone like me who doesn’t own a dog, I just enjoy looking at the pictures of other people’s dogs. A copycat service for cats (get it?) is developed by the same people, but since I prefer dogs, I’m featuring Uniteddogs.com instead.
